Q - What is a BOINC project?

A - BOINC project definition: A BOINC project is a website and associated server set up by an individual or group to distribute applications (software which is a set of instructions for executing tasks in a computing device) to BOINC volunteer computing devices that are deliberately attached to receive, process and return the results of the application for further research.
See the official BOINC Project list from The University of California. Those projects are listed in the BOINC Manager.
